Ladakh Heart Foundation, in collaboration with the Health Department, Leh, organized a one-day health awareness campaign in Ombay Hunder, Nubra Valley. The event featured esteemed speakers, including State Awardee Dr. Nordan Otzer, an ENT surgeon, and Social Activist Jigmet Singge.
Dr. Nordan addressed Non-Communicable Diseases like Cancer, Diabetes, Heart Diseases, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Diseases, and other lifestyle ailments. Mr. Singge discussed the crucial role of the environment, emphasizing the impact of air, water, and soil pollution, as well as the effects of climate change on public health. Both speakers provided insights into improving overall well-being.
The event was attended by Sarpanch Hunder, Stanzin Chotar, the Headmaster of Government Middle School Ombay, Goba of Hunder, and villagers, making it a comprehensive initiative to promote health awareness in the community."
